Circannuam

Circannual, adj.: (biology) Occurring or having cycles of approximately annual periodicity.

Throughout 2017 I photographed a favourite twisted old oak tree on the banks of Loch Lomond at Milarrochy Bay. I embarked on this project with few preconceptions about how I wanted the images of the tree to look. I did not lie in wait for burning-sky sunsets nor reject shoots on flat, grey, rainy days. Shooting from the same vantage point in all weathers, in all seasons, in all conditions, I simply set out to document a year in the life of this wonderfully enduring tree.
